Sasken Technologies Limited announced that it received an appeal order from the Joint Commissioner Appeals, GST Department, Bengaluru, dismissing the company's appeal for fiscal year 2020-21 and confirming a tax demand of Rs 6,74,55,558, along with interest of Rs 5,36,39,607 and penalty of Rs 67,62,600, totaling Rs 12,78,57,765. Including recalculated interest of Rs 7,02,60,032, the total demand now stands at Rs 14,44,78,190, stemming from alleged violations related to GST payable under reverse charge and discrepancies between GSTR-2B and GSTR-3B; the company stated that the dismissal has no material financial or operational impact and it intends to appeal the order before GSTAT.
